What’s Next is Now

When I returned to work in Alaska, I created a new blog that focused on current experiences and pondering the future. For those who don’t know, I have meditated for several years and a part of my meditation is to manifest the future that I want.

I wanted to return to Alaska and again work as a school counselor. I knew this would be challenging as my husband, Jim Bob, would stay home in Texas while I worked 3,500 miles for 5 months at a time. Somehow, we made it work for three years and believe our marriage is stronger than ever.

I also manifested feeling healthier, stronger, and eradicating symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia that periodically resurface, usually when stress and overdoing it get the best of me. I began practicing Qi Gong again and discovered the movements helped tremendously, both physically and mentally. I decided to go for my teacher certification in Qi Gong. Fortunately, there is no deadline to earn my certification as badly breaking my ankle last year turned out to be a major setback. I took some time to consider if this was the right direction and determined, yes, I do want to be a certified Qi Gong teacher and teach others the benefits of the practice. I still have hours of free teaching to complete, as well as some other steps before I receive my certification but I am determined and learning patience.

Me and my boy Zeus

Finally, I manifested how I could again stay home, continue as a school counselor, and rebuild Webb Acres into vibrant homestead of sorts. I am still sad that we no longer have alpacas, and especially miss our Zeus who was born on Webb Acres. I really want a camel but both my husband and veterinarian say NO! I also intend to be more thoughtful in making Webb Acres an income producing venture compared to the hobby of alpacas.

I am fortunate that the board of Dillingham School District agreed to allow me to work a hybrid schedule this school year. I just finished a month in beautiful Dillingham, Alaska. There were many happy moments and a few challenging ones this month. I continue to learn about myself, my strengths and limitations. I found some clarity in friendship and trust.

I reconnected with my longest childhood friend, Amy, who is on a similar journey of the wonders of energy healing. It sounds hokey, I know, but energy work turns out to be powerful.

Despite periods of loneliness when so far from home, I have dear friends here whom I am grateful to know. I have grown close to a talented young lady, Margaret. We met at the B&B when we first arrived in Dillingham a year ago, and my adoration and appreciation for Margaret continues to grow. It’s crazy that I am two generations older than her.

Jade, the band teacher, made me a southern breakfast for dinner one evening and I was happily entertained playing with her dogs. Who knew that Alabama tomato gravy tasted so good?

After this week’s training in Anchorage, I return home to Texas. I look forward to work from home surrounded by my beloved cats and dog. I am also excited for putting our plans for Webb Acres into action.

A house is not a home without four-legged kids

It is wild that the hopes and dreams I have developed in my mind over the last few years are coming into fruition. This is by no means the first time I realized that dreams do come true. The difference is I am more intentional about what I want when manifesting.

I can’t wait to spend more time with two of my favorite boys.
